This Privacy Policy explains how Headshots with a Bird ("we," "us"), a project of SCHEME Studio, handles information when you use our website and headshot-generation service (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

Photos you upload. The selfies you provide so we can generate your headshots.
Generated images. The headshots we create for you.
Your email address. Collected so we can identify your order and — only if you tick the opt-in box — send occasional updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Reviews. If you choose to leave a review: your star rating, review text, an optional name/handle, and — only if you tick the consent box — one of your generated headshots.
Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details; we receive only a confirmation that payment succeeded.
Limited technical data. Your IP address is used transiently to enforce usage limits and prevent abuse.

2. How we use your information

To generate your headshots and show them to you.
To process your payment.
To display reviews you have consented to publish.
To prevent abuse and operate the Service.

We do not sell your information. We do not use your photos to train facial-recognition systems, to identify you, or to build any biometric database.

3. Your photos — how they are processed and kept

To create your headshots, the photos you upload are sent to our third-party AI image provider (see Section 5) for processing. We do not save your uploaded photos to our servers after your headshots are generated — they are held only in memory for the duration of generation and then discarded. Generated headshots are delivered to you; we do not retain them on our servers except where you have explicitly consented to feature a headshot alongside a review.

4. Sensitive / biometric information

A photo of your face may be considered sensitive or biometric information under some laws. We process your photos solely to generate the headshots you request, and for no other purpose. By uploading a photo, you confirm you are the person shown (or have that person's permission) and consent to this processing. If you do not agree, please do not upload a photo.

5. Service providers we share data with

We use a small number of trusted providers to run the Service. Your data is shared with them only as needed:

Stripe — payment processing.
AI image provider (e.g., Replicate / Google Gemini) — your uploaded photos are sent here to generate your headshots, subject to that provider's terms and privacy practices.
Hosting provider — to run the website and store published review content.

6. Data retention

Uploaded photos: discarded after generation. Payment records: retained by Stripe per their policies. Published reviews and any consented headshot images: retained until you ask us to remove them or we remove them. Contact us to request deletion.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under GDPR or the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, email us at james@schemestudio.lol.

8. Children

The Service is for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect or process information from anyone under 18. Do not upload photos of minors.

9. Security & international transfers

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no online service is perfectly secure. Our providers may process data in countries other than yours; by using the Service you consent to such transfers.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
